"Un answered phone"

About: Leicester Royal Infirmary

Iv been trying to make an appointment regarding my eyes. Iv been on the phone from 8.30 every hour up until 4.00pm. It rang fit 20 mins , then the line went dead. My appointment was cancelled in June and I have not received a new appointment and I feel my eye condition has changed. I no the clinic is busy, but surely there's someone there to answer the phone. There's history of glucoma in my family and that is what I'm being treated for .

Response from Leicester Royal Infirmary

Dear Ann We’re really sorry to learn of the major problems you have experienced in getting through to our ophthalmology department. This is isn’t at all good enough. We have worked to improve this aspect of our service but as you have found we still have a significant way to go. I’d very much like to sort out your appointment for you. Please email me your name, address, date of birth, along with the name of the consultant – if you know it, to Martin.Watts@uhl-tr.nhs.uk. I very much hope to hear from you soon - our sincerest apologies again. Sincerely Martin Watts Service Manager Ophthalmology Leicester’s Hospitals
