I have just collected my son from the treatment center where he underwent a cataract operation. My son is profoundly deaf and partially sighted and i took time off work to be with him to interpret as he uses British sign language. As we arrived in reception it appeared that the pre-admission clinic had took it upon themselves to book an interpreter. I was so relieved as i could only go as far as the prep room but she could actually be with him while he was anaesthetised.I was able to go home and wait for the ward to call me once in recovery. The nurses were so kind and considerate with my son, also the consultant who operated on him was lovely and explained everything to me, and actually said what a nice young man my son was and how wonderful it was that he was able to get on with his life playing rugby and traveling the world despite his disabilities. After his nurse explained all the after care i was able to take my son home happy and relieved that the procedure from start to finish went without any hitches. Well done and many thanks Treatment Centre, you again never fail to amaze me. Thank you from the bottom of my heart....
