"We would like more activities and staff"

About: Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust / Adult mental health (inpatient)

(as a staff member posting for a patient/service user),

We would like more activities on our structured day programme like cookery, more card making sessions, a few more board and Wii games like Mario games. We would also like more staff to facilitate leave. Sometimes leave is cancelled. Staff are taken up doing observations etc.

Thank you for expressing your opinions of the structured day programme on Seacole Ward. It is good to hear that you particularly enjoy the cookery and card making sessions. The programme is jointly run by the nursing and Occupational Therapy teams who are regularly reviewing the activities on offer, I will pass on your suggestions to help them make these decisions. I have spoken to the Ward Manager who tells me that more board games have been ordered following suggestions from the patient group, these should arrive soon.

We are currently in the process of employing staff to fill vacancies in the staff team and hope that any cancellations will be minimised in the near future. Ward Managers are keeping a record of leave cancellations to help us understand where resources can be better used.
