"It shouldn't be so difficult to make an appointment"

About: London Ambulance Service NHS Trust NHS England London

(as the patient),

I had an appointment for a blood test due today. However the night before I fell ill and called the ambulance. Paramedics came and checked me over and in the end they gave me the results and also told me that I should go and see my GP in the morning.

Since I had blood test appointment early in the morning and did not had time to make another appointment with the doctor, I decided to go to the surgery and make an appointment there instead.

When I try to make the appointment I was told I should follow the rules as they were written on the paper stuck to the wall.

I may not be in this situation ever again but it needs to be addressed how to make an appointment in this case?

Eventually when the receptionist agreed to make the appointment, although I had handled all the related papers of my medical condition, she started to ask about my medical condition that I needed this appointment for? I think privacy should be observed when medical conditions are discussed. Reception area is not appropriate for it.

I am not making complaint but I am pointing out some issues needs to be addressed.

Thank you
