"Breast cancer surgery and treatment"

About: Warwick Hospital

I was so grateful for such a quick diagnosis of breast cancer in June followed by surgery within a few days. I am quite sure that I would not have had quicker or more expert care if I had been treated privately.. My oncologist, all his staff and all the nurses in the Helen Clark Suite at the hospital are to be commended for their professionalism, expertise, kindness, compassion and ongoing support. When you face a diagnosis of cancer it is such a shock, and I'm sure everybody reacts differently. I observed from my own point of you and the treatment of others such empathy, no one was rushed, and the whole atmosphere was calm and caring I could not believe that I would only be in hospital for one night after what seemed to me to be major surgery,. However the 23hour ward really lives up to its name, with high quality nursing staff giving you the confidence required to go home the next day. They made sure that you were physically recovered and able to cope. I continue to visit now for psychological and emotional support, something I did not think would be necessary, but which is still part of the recovery process, and I am given the time I need to talk through difficulties I have experienced. This is so valuable when you live on your own. This department at Warwick Hospital is excellently managed, a remarkable team of people. Thank you to you all.

Thank you very much for taking the time to share these lovely comments. I will ensure they are passed on the team in the Helen Clark Suite.
