"Mersea Ward going backwards"

About: Colchester General Hospital

This was my third stay in Mersea ward and by far the worst. This is the first time simple requests were not met and nurses said they would do things, change dressings etc. and then failed to do so. The new staff nurses seemed knowledge able but the "middle rank" staff lacked interest. The care workers making beds etc. and the cleaners at least did what was required well. The only saving grace was the night shift which was made up of the same staff as on my previous stays.
