"He was absolutely brilliant"

About: South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust

(as the patient),

I had a heart by-pass operation in January and have had episodes of breathlessness on 3 occasions since then. On one occasion the paramedic who attended was able to treat me at home but on the other two times I was taken to hospital for treatment.

The paramedics and ambulance teams have come from Liskard and Saltash, I’d like them to know how much I appreciate their service and to send them a big ‘thank you’. They do a very thorough job – I get a more thorough check up than when I see the doctor!

On this latest occasion the paramedic called for an ambulance as he felt I really needed to be in hospital, however there were no ambulances available. He stayed with me all the time until an ambulance was available and till it arrived. He was absolutely brilliant.

Dear Cairo582

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. I hope you are currently well.

It is always rewarding to hear that our staff are continuing to provide excellent care to our patients when they need us most. Not every patient needs to go to hospital and South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust is committed to delivering better and better care every year, ensuring that all our patients get the right care in the right place at the right time.

I would like to pass your kind comments onto the ambulance crews who came to your aid. Would you be able to contact me, laura.martin@swast.nhs.uk or call 01392 453831, at your convenience, with your address and approximate dates that the ambulances attended? This would allow me to identify the staff involved and ensure they are recognised for the care they gave.

Thank you again for providing feedback on our service.

Kind regards

Laura
