About: Circle Bath

I went to circle bath on friday afternoon for a hernia operation with the consultant. I was asked to be there for 12.30 as apparently my operation was at 2.30. The anesthetist had absolutely no bed side manor what so ever only answering in one word answers. i told him not to give me morphine or opiates as it make me violently ill. After coming round from my operation - that was pushed to 5.30 after not eating all day, i was given a synthetic morphine which made me violently ill - after a hernia op you can imagine this put me in near passing out pain. The nurses were closing the ward, lights were being turned off and I was made to feel as though they couldnt leave until I did. I was kicked out an hour and a half after my operation after being ill and still woozy...and ill from the opiates. I was discharged with again opiate pain relief of which I was not aware until I took them. I had every single side effect that was written on the packet. I called the hospital the next morning in extreme pain as I couldnt take the the opiate pain killers as they were doing more harm than good. I was not called back until 4,30 of which I was told that I should go and see my GP... on a saturday afternoon at 4.40pm... Everyone knows they would not be open. I was forced to call 111 for an emergency prescription, luckily my nearest supermarket was open for my mother to collect. I have had possibly, the worst aftercare experience ever possible at the Circle bath and will never return, they have taken all of the trust out of the NHS for me. I feel because I was an NHS patient they felt they could treat me like this which is incomprehensible. I am angry, in alot of pain and wondering if a patient of lesser mobility and wilthout family support - where would they be now? How would they have dealt with this situation?? I am also very angry that the arrogant male staff that 'looked after' me could think this was ok in modern day medicine, they have not only let themselves down but also their profession and the NHS.
