"rheumatology leicester royal rude consultant"

About: Leicester Royal Infirmary

This is the secound time i visited this department and seen the same consultant who was very rude talked over me was 1 hour 30 minutes after appointment time when i got there early. I was very upset when left with my husband who noticed him being rude talking over me. He kept saying over and over to everything i said 'so why does that bother you'. I believe that he thinks i am putting my illness on to claim benefit, the reason i am there is i am in pain trying to carry out my normal daily activitys, just because i sat for 2 hours prior to my appointment and had not been walking for 10 minutes constantly prior to walking in how could he judge me. I am a very active person i used to walk at least 5 miles a day prior to me having my illness now i struggle as pain starts to limit my activitys. I have blood test that show I have some sort of auto immune problem. I want to see another consultant as I really feel uncomfortable and don't like the way he speaks to me.

Response from Leicester Royal Infirmary

Dear Reviewer We're really sorry to hear that. You absolutely should not be made to feel judged in anyway. We would be very happy to investigate this further and to explore the possibility of you seeing a different consultant. Please email communications@uhl-tr.nhs.uk with your name, address, date of birth and the name of your consultant and we will look into that right away. If you could mention in your email that you are contacting as a result of your NHS CHoices comment that would be really helpful. Sincrely, Communications Team Leicester's Hospitals
