"Parotid Gland Surgery"

After recently having a Parotidectomy and spending two nights on Ward 20 of the L and D after my operation, I would like to say that the treatment I received from the initial Pre-op appointments all the way through the Op and after the Op whilst on the ward was brilliant. My Consultant, all the doctors,staff and especially my anaesthetist were very helpful and kind and considering they are quite short staffed I was impressed with the service I received. The only thing I would say is that once I have been released from the hospital I am two weeks on and still waiting to see the consultant to discuss the op and examine my scar tissue which I think is maybe a bit lengthy after such an op as I am not sure if the swelling and bruising I have is normal or not and would have liked to have seen somebody who specialises in this type of op sooner to be able to re-assure me if this is normal Post Op as my own GP could only say he didn't think I had an infection and he thought it was just swollen and bruised by nothing definite. Other than that I cannot fault the L and D and think everyone does a wonderful job.
