"Unicompartmental knee resurfacing"

About: Goring Hall Hospital

I was referred to a surgeon and was diagnosed as needing unicompartmental knee resurfacing on both my knees. My consultation was excellent and reassuring. I was put on the NHS waiting list and was given a date within the specified time. I felt very lucky to be able to be treated at Goring Hall. From start to finish I felt total confidence in all the staff and was always shown great kindness. Each stage of the way was clearly explained. It was very helpful to see the physiotherapist before the operation, and to be told the day before what time my op should be. The surgeon has helped me to get my life back and I have been truly lucky to have had him as my surgeon. I had my first op on June 6th and my second on July 29th. Before my operation my walking was really painful and i had to give up all sports. My first knee feels so good now and even after 7 days of my 2nd one I have felt so much better. The nursing staff are very thorough and explain very carefully about your medication before the op. The aftercare is also excellent with appointments given to you before you go home. You know exactly what is going on . Many thanks to you all.
