"Air raid a disgrace is this day and age"

For years there has been an air raid siren that intermittently goes off, no routine or schedule. Latest inconvenience at 03:30, yes that is AM until 04:00 on Tuesday 15 July disturbing my sleep the siren can be heard up to a few miles away! Urban myth is a warning to the local neighbourhood that a mental health has escaped and be on your guard as they will be dangerous. just a look at threads found on the internet. In this day and age your alarm systems should be upgraded to stop waking up the entire community, stop discrimination by the local community and the poor elderly inpatient who will be taken straight back to WII.

Response from Fulbourn Hospital

Thank you for your comment and I apologise that you and your family have been disturbed recently by the alarms sounding in the grounds of Fulbourn Hospital in the early hours of the morning. They have sounded when a fire alarm-related incident has occurred at our wards at the hospital site. They were designed (historically) to be loud enough to alert the Duty Nursing Officer wherever they are on the hospital site. Followng you feedback, we have disabled the alarm so that no further disturbance will be caused in the future. If you have any further concerns regarding this issue, please do not hesitate to contact our Patient Advice and Liasion Service (PALs) on; Freephone 0800 376 0775 or Email: pals@cpft.nhs.uk Kind Regards, Patient Experience Team
