My husband is at present in the CDU ward with an infection. When I arrived he was on a commode in the ward. He is confused at present because of his condition and a nurse had to help him clean up. She did so with protective gloves on her hands and wore an apron. I was watching from an observation panel in the door. My husband had tried without success to cleanse himself. After she had completed the task she helped him back into bed. I was greatly impressed by her treatment but she never attempted to wash his hands, so I did when I entered the room. I would be interested in your comments as I found this quite disturbing.
