Ear, Nose & Throat - Hearing appointment, was roughed up by the consultant who treated me as if I had Muncheasen's. I was then handed a presecription that could only be used at hospital pharmacy. Hospital Pharmacy - Waited over 20 minutes before being told I'd have to waiot longer (left to go back to work), then had to come back Saturday. Despite being there 30 mins before the stated closing time, was treated like an annoying late comer. Received less meds (by 2/3) than that stated on prescription (they said it was their manager's poicy, but was charged the full prescription price - complained, was ignored) Escalated the matter - was ignored. Vascular- Saw a Surgeon who said i should be booked in for surgey - month's later still no reply. Bookings Line - Shockingly appauling, frustrating, unworkable telephony system, seemingly invented to prevent patients from accessing any sort of care. No direct access to departments, passed all around the houses. Eventually passed to a young receptionist in vascular, who despite sitting next to someone I needed to speak to, couldn't pass on a message to her colleague, instead tried to get me to call her back on 1 of the only 2 days a week she works. When she finally agree a call back, she tried to hang up before verifying they had by telephone details (which they didn't despite both my GP and Casualty having them). All that is broken and wrong about the NHS is demonstrated at this place, poor service, disorganisation and inefficiency. People who have to work through any illnesses/conditions are placed at the back of the queue. Why can't the NHS cater for people who work and their schedule? After all we are the ones who pay for it.
