"Disgraceful Treatment - treated as a number not a..."

About: University Dental Hospital

Appalling from the desperate start to the never ending finish. This morning was the last straw in my five year long treatment at the "hospital." I've had orthodontic treatment a while ago which was okay, no immediate problems, although follow up appointments were just non-existent. My second treatment was RCT and this was absolutely dreadful, I had so many appointments that I had gone through my GCSEs and first year of A Levels. Even after all these appointments we decided to go else where and find a clinic that could fix the mess the dental hospital had made of me, which they did and completed my RCT In a few appointments over the course of one day. I was used as a guinea pig for students to use microscopes on and test their theories as they all gathered round to study and ponder over my open bite (with no intention of providing a solution). I have an open bite. It's open to the extent that only my single furthest molars touch and I have consequent lisp and difficulty eating comfortably in public. The surgeons didn't care and persuaded a polite and agreeable 16 year old me and his fearful mother to not have the surgery to fix my open bite. 2 years passed and it is much worse now and I am extremely self-conscious so my dentist told me to go to the hospital and discuss jaw surgery before I have to go university and I will be too far away. The appointment was made and cancelled twice by the hospital and finally arranged for this morning. I went early and was seen in time and soon told that they had brought me to the wrong clinic and give me an appointment in October to the correct clinic... October, are they serious ?! The university dental hospital of Manchester have ruined my chances of having this treatment as I am prioritising my education and not even considering going to this appointment in October. I'll let them find out I'm not going when I don't turn up, give them the respect they treated me with none
