"Excellent care at Bristol Royal Infirmary UBHT"

About: Bristol Royal Infirmary / General surgery

(as the patient),

I was admitted as emergency case this week and my treatment from start to finish was on the whole excellent. I was admitted for a check of hernia, which had become really painful. My GP, and I come to that, thought I'd not be admitted but instead my case escalated.

However medical staff treated my case as serious right from begining to end. I was operated on same day. However, it turned out that it wasn't a hernia but a serious infection causing fluid sac that had all symptoms of hernia.

Nursing staff were great, only one nurse ignored request to remove a used wee bottle. 1 out of 20 ain't bad. The others provided what was needed, in timely and customer freindly fashion.

There was just one confusion in communication with surgical team, but that was quickly resolved and with no fuss.

Cleanliness excellent. Food superb, customer service of cleaners, food and other non-nursing staff excellent.

Couldn't fault the whole experience. Staff to be congratulated.
