"Cataract Surgery"

About: Macclesfield District General Hospital / Ophthalmology

(as the patient),

I went to Macclesfield District General Hospital in November 2008 and January 2009 for cataract surgery to both eyes. The operation took place on separate occasions. The nurses on the ward of the day care were considerate of my needs and allayed all my fears and anxieties. Mr Hubbard and Mr Quay the eye surgeons and their teams put me completely at ease throughout the operations. Not forgetting the doctor and staff at the outpatients clinic for their care on appointments and punctuality and consideration of the patient. With grateful thanks to all.

Thank you for sending in your story. We are really pleased that you had a good experience during both operations and your visits to outpatients. Our staff do all that they can to reassure patients and put them at ease at what must have been a worrying time. It is good to read that you felt that staff on the Day Case Unit and in the outpatient clinic took your needs into consideration.

Your comments will be passed on to the Ophthalmology team and the Day Case Unit.
