"Removal of mole"

About: Queen's Hospital (Romford)

I had a minor surgery to remove a mole from my hand and it was sent to Histology for a biopsy. I was told that it would take about three weeks for the results. Two weeks later I was sent an appointment letter for the following week. When I attended this appointment I was told my results had not come back. One of the nurses asked if I had been telephoned with the results. The doctor told me that he would call me with the results and I am still waiting 6 weeks after the original surgery. I telephoned the department today and was told that the results take up to 8 weeks to come through and I will be written to when the results are known. So why have I been given so much misinformation by several of the staff, i.e they will take 3 weeks or 8 weeks, we will phone you or write? I would have been saved a lot of hassle if I was given the correct information in the first place.
