My Mum was admitted to A & E on Easter Sunday after a fall at the care home where she was a resident. She spent a day in AAU Level 1 Yellow & was then transferred to AAU Level 3 Yellow. You hear reports of the elderly being ignored but not so in this ward. The care she received was exemplary, the ward was spotless & they tried very hard to encourage Mum to eat & drink to aid her recovery but all to no avail . At the wonderful age of 95 she passed away on the 6th May peacefully & with dignity. The kindness & compassion shown not only to Mum but to us as well was amazing & we cannot thank you enough. The help & information from Patient Affairs was equally superb & they guided us through the immediate"what to do first" things with kindness & understanding. A very big thank you to the staff of AAU & Patient Affairs Sue
