To start with the parking is a nightmare. We all know NHS appointments are with approximated times so you r always forced to pay for more time regardless. I used the maternity services , I felt whatever decision or requests I made, I was not listened to and the conclusion was always "everything will b ok". This included the consultants and the midwives. Though encouraged to have a birth plan, it meant nothing. The sad thing is that all my fears came true. I had a difficult birth contributed by a midwife's ineptitude. Finally ended up in Victoria ward. No one spoke to me the entire time, I woke up next day and found my discharge nite with my meds on top if the table though baby had not been discharged. Finally git discharged on a Friday afternoon with no instructions but with falls hope that a comm midwife would see me. This didn't happen till the following week on tues. I find staff lack empathy and it's just another patient. Mother and baby "stable" no regards to the mental torture or how all thus can affect you emotionally. No wonder there's a rise to mother and baby units due to the trauma. Come barnet, sort yourselves out - women have given birth fir years, haven't you mastered the it. I thought people get better with practice. It's all about saving money to you
