Having not been in hospital for 30 years since I was 4, I was a little nervous initially. Firstly I visited radiology for an ultrasound and X-ray. The staff were fantastic here from reception staff to radiologists. Everything was clean and well organised. I then had to visit Urology where I got my results. Again the reception staff and nurses made me feel at ease and the whole experience was well organised and I was seen in good time. Doctors were fantastic and performed a cystoscopy, as you can imagine this is every mans worst nightmare. The experience was fine though because of the way they were. I felt relaxed and like a human. They took my feelings into account at every step and explained everything well. Next came my operation, again well planned and the staff from reception to theatre prep were fantastic. I met the relevant people, anaethastits to my surgeon. At all times I felt empathy and understanding, a genuine sense of care. Not that I was another in a long line of patients. The recovery staff was amazing. Then into the ward. Again, I couldn't have had better people looking after me. They love their jobs and that shows in the care they provided. The food was great, the ward was immaculate. I wanted for nothing. I actually have private cover from work but chose as it was so quick to go with NHS. I'm glad I did. My consultant was great and my operating Dr, Thank you. The whole experience was smooth. I've heard lots complaining about the NHS and certain hospitals. I will not say a bad word about it. There are amazing people doing amazing jobs in Fazakerley. I feel much more at ease now with my follow up treatment.
"Excellent from start to finish"
