"Mixed feelings"

About: The Royal Victoria Infirmary

I recently visited this hospital in February then again in May. My first app in feb was just a consultation in which a student nurse was present I brought along a friend and while I was in another room with the consultant the student nurse began to quiz my friend about my symptoms my friend had said she hadn't noticed a few of symptoms that I had said in which the student nurse then said that I was obviously exaggerating on what was happening and it mustn't be happening that often which I feel is very unprofessional & left me not wanting to come back to my next app for and MRI scan however I did and the staff we lovely and couldn't have been more helpful. It's been 2 weeks now since I had it and now I'm wondering how long I will wait till I get results?

Thank you for your feedback regarding your recent visits to the Royal Victoria Infirmary. We are very disappointed to learn that your experience in the Outpatient Clinic did not meet the professional standards we expect of our staff and we would wish to offer you an unreserved apology in this regard. We would be grateful if you could contact Matron Gordon Elder on 0191 233 6161 so that we can obtain some more details in order to investigate this issue further and provide you with a more comprehensive response. We are pleased to read that you had an improved experience when you subsequently came for an MRI scan and that you found the staff in MRI to be very helpful. We will share this positive feedback with this team. It is difficult to comment on the amount of time it takes to receive results from an MRI scan without knowing some more specific details. If you could contact Miss Powell, Directorate Manager for Neurosciences, on 0191 282 5720, she will look into your clinical case and provide you with direct feedback.
