"Very poor service"

About: Royal Sussex County Hospital

I was admitted to a and e Wednesday afternoon. Finally moved from a and e Thursday evening. I was not kept informed of any thing. Felt as if I'd been abandoned. Finally went in for surgery for suspected appendicitis 11pm Thursday evening. Turns out was not appendicitis but a ruptured ovarian cyst. I still have no more info. I was discharged Friday afternoon. I was provided no aftercare instructions. My wound was not checked before I left hospital and was sent out only with paracetamol as codine makes me sick so can't take it. Doctor refused to prescribe me another pain killer despite the fact I'd been in Morphine whole time in hospital. Since I arrived in a and e, I told staff of my allergies and that codine makes me ill. This was never written down. I had to continuously repeate myself. They also kept taking blood and time samples from me as they never marked them so could not use them. Since arriving home, (I live in another country thankfully) I have been back to a and e twice. Once for the pain I was left in as a result of what this hospital had done and once for the infection that occurred as a result. I have spent over £40 in 2 days to stop the pain and spread of infection. A cost I should never have had to pay out had someone at this hospital find their job properly. They have no idea how to communicate with each other or take gown vital information. If you are visiting Brughtin like I was and become very sick, please try and get back home if you can to ho to your own a and e department and hospital rather than use this mess of a place.
