After a fall at work, my colleagues brought me to East Surrey Hospital, where it transpired that I had sustained a very nasty ankle fracture and had to spend 4 days as an inpatient. I just want to thank everyone who assisted so kindly, beginning with the lovely young lady in the x-ray department (who remembered me later that evening when I had another x-ray), through to the staff in A & E, the nurses on Leigh Ward, the very friendly Healthcare Assistant who gave me magazines whilst I waited to be taken into Theatre, the anaesthetist and assistant who were so reassuring, the clear explanation given by the surgeon and the physios who were able to work out how to get around my mobility problems when I got home. The ward was spotless, with a splendid window view, but one of the biggest surprises was how good the food was. There was loads of choice and the cooked meals were hot! And the people that served them were very cheery and helpful. If I need to be an inpatient again, I will not worry, and I am optimistic that the further outpatient care I will need in the coming few weeks will be just as good.
"The wonderful care I received at East Surrey..."
