Having had 2 children at York in the last two years my experience was the same with each. The midwives I was fortunate enough to have deliver my children, were fabulous and I cannot thank them enough. However on first admission and subsequent stay in G2 I encountered some midwives who were unfriendly and un reassuring although I have to stress these staff were by far the minority with the majority of staff being extremely kind and caring. I just wish those midwives who effected my experience of childbirth would consider that the birth of each child is extremely special to a mother despite ' the hundreds of deliveries you've done' and that their actions during the delivery impact greatly on the stressfulness of the birth and subsequently a mother's memory of it.
"Some excellent midwives some not so"
