"Brilliant healthcare professionals"

About: St David's Foundation Hospice Care

(as a carer),

My mum has had Parkinson's for about 7 years. The Parkinson's nurse for Gwent, Debbie Davies and her GP, Dr Ryder at Pontnewydd surgery, plus her pharmacy (Pontnewydd Pharmacy) have combined to help me keep her at home, which is what she wanted. She is now having palliative care at home, with help from St David's nurses who come twice a week. The whole team have been amazing. Debbie Davies was brilliant at giving mum time to talk and let her know how she felt. She also let us have the last appointment of the morning so that I had time to travel to Wales from the Midlands. Her GP has been hugely supportive in all kinds of ways and talks to mum as though she doesn't have dementia, which is rare, as well as being on side about keeping her at home. It seems nothing is too much trouble. I really wanted to give these people some credit where it is due as they are health professionals who have gone over and above the call of duty time and time again.
