"Very upset"

About: North Middlesex Hospital

I left this hospital feeling worse then when I got in.I felt strong pain in my chest and as it was weekend I needed to come to A&E.Unfriendky nurse who saw me first spent with me around 30 secondsspeaking so fast that I had to ask her to repeat every sentence.Next one was the technician who did ECG with the same unfriendly manner. After him other technician who wasn't any better then his collegues took my blood, stabbing needle in my vein that I still feel pain there 5 days after. And in the end doctor.Doctor was rudest person I've ever seen.He behaved like I am there for fun, and soon as he heard what my problems is he said-that's nothing and he wanted to leave. But when I explained again what I feel he sent me to do XRay.After that he came again and said that is nothing to worry about with mannerism like we are at the parking, not in the hospital. He wanted to leave again when I asked him to at least explane what the cause could be, but he kept saying that the doesn't know and that could be something and nothing?! Again I repeated how I feel and then he turned to my husband and say-This what she is saying doesn't make any sense to me, which I found extremely rude, as I am there talking to him and he behaves like I am not there. In the end he said that maybe something which ECG shows might be cause of my problems but he is not sure because that might mean nothing?!And that he will send tgat to my GP. During the all this sensless conversation he was speaking so fast, and trying to leave.I was and still am very upset and I am still feeling the same.I saw my GP today to see that diagnose he sent was Anxiety and on the list of investigations that are done there is not Xray they did.So here I am with same problem which is definetly not anxiety, but after treatment I have receieved I left the hospital anxious and upset for sure.I understand that medical staff in this hospital is extremely busy and that there is a lot of people to be seen but that doesn't justify rudness.Everyone deserve to be treated with respect as nobody is not sitting in A&E for hours for fun and entertainment.I've never been in A&E before and I hope that I'd never be in the same situation again.Doctor I've seen and dealed with is everything but not doctor for me, doctor should be there to help not to treat you like a rubbish and upset you, and you are vulnerable and can't do anything about it. I hope that someone will do something about it in the future.Thank you.

So sorry you felt that your questions were not answered. All A&E patients are seen by a nurse soon after arrival to determine how urgent their case is and if they need to be seen by one of our doctors and we try to be as helpful as possible. Please email me if I can be of any further assistance Natasha Knutt, A&E matron, natasha.knutt@nhs.net.
