I have recently been to this hospital after a horse riding accident I could not falter the A &E dept but the after care was something to be desired. Firstly the nurses need more staff they are running about like maniacs, the food is inedible even the sandwiches cant be eaten, the only thing that was ok was the icecream. One of the things that really needs serious attention is putting patients with dementia in wards with patients who dont have it, I do understand that these patients cannot help having dementia but I was in bed and constantly for 24 hours listened to a lady saying excuse me can you help me, and when you are dealing with you own problems it is very hard to deal with. Where is the dignity in your staff I do not know I was on the bed pan when a member of staff walked in to give me my dinner I thought that when the curtains were round my bed it was private but obviously not. The nurses were lovely but overworked, and what as happened to privacy, rights, independance, dignity, choice and fulfilment out of the window I feel. To sum my stay up I felt like a number not a patient.
