I tried booking an appointment today (9th March 2009) on the telephone using Choose & Book for the ENT service at Stepping Hill Hospital. The person I spoke to told me that there were no appointments on the system and so could not tell me the waiting time for an appointment. Because there were no appointments shown my details would have to be forwarded to the hospital who would then contact me within 14 days to offer me an appointment in the future. I would like to comment that this is a totally unacceptable state of affairs as far as I am concerned. I am now going to ask my GP for other hospitals to choose from in the hope that I can find one which will be able to give me some idea of waiting times. My experience of this choose and book system is now one of total disappointment and at the moment I consider it to be a complete and utter waste of time.
