"Out of hours GP Service "

About: NHS Grampian

(as a parent/guardian),

My son has had a large bald patch on his tongue which had been continuing to spread over the weekend, upto that point it hadnt really spread over the previous week when it was first noticed. We called out of hours and was offered an appointment, we couldnt get transport at that time to the hospital so asked if we could have a later appointment. We were then given the option to cancel the call altogether or have the GP call us. We opted for the GP to call us. When the GP called we described the symptoms and were then asked by the GP if it was something that they would be able to deal with at out of hours. As we are not medically trained surely that is the GPs call to answer? This is the same GP that had said to my wife earlier at the hospital she was so glad that it was raining so heavily that day as it means that no one will go out to the hospital
