"NOT A LOT AT ALL. QUITE INTESTING ..."

About: Friarage Hospital Site

(as the patient),

What I liked

NOT A LOT AT ALL. QUITE INTESTING IS A GOOD WORD FOR THIS SO CALLED HOSPITAL.

What could be improved

Well for a start the consultants should listen to the nursing staff as well as the patient because when you tell then that you have tried a medication years previous and was made very ill due to being allergic etc. and they still tell you that you must try it because the medications have changed and you contradict both parties you are put down and feel like you can not say anything to them because they do not want to know about your past if you had been treated by a different hospital years gone by and that it is the new consultants that are dealing with you now and that is all that counts. BUT when you have to telephone to tell the nursing staff that you are really ill on this medication that has not been altered in anyway at all then you have to go through the rigmerall of trying to find another medication that will counteract with what you are taking at the same time and that you will not have problems with. The next best thing was when i tried to order my prescription from my G.P. 4 weeks later for my holiday my G.P. wanted to prescribe me the medication that made me ill due to the fact that not only did the Nursing Staff pass the information onto my G.P. but neither had the consultant that had to authorise the change due to my problems in the first place. THERE IS NO WORDS THAT CAN SAY HOW I AM FEELING AT THE MOMENT ABOUT THIS JUST FURIOUS AND DOWN RIGHT DISPICABLE TO BE TREATED LIKE THIS. Fortunately I am not really elderly but had i been and i had taken this prescribed medication without noticing serious implications could have occured and the fact that my G.P. said that the consultants had to immediately fax through the letter so i could get my medication ordered was upsetting especially when i telephone about the problems to my consultants secretary and she knew nothing about it was FABULOUS she had to actually contact the nursing staff to verify i was telling the truth and they had to telephone back to say theyd send them a letter the following week.

Anything else?

WHAT CAN I SAY ABOUT THEM IT IS ALL IN THE READING ABOVE. HAD THIS TOTAL COCK UP HAPPENED IN A G.P. SURGERY THEN SOMEONE WOULD BE ON A SERIOUS WARNING AND FOR INFORMATION NOT TO BE SENT IS DISGUSTING AND DOWN RIGHT APPALLING.
