"Lack of interest in answering the telephone."

About: Sunderland Royal Hospital

I received a letter today 9th Sept 2014 telling me to phone for an appointment at the physiotherapy department and failure to make this appointment would result in my being discharged, yet when trying to phone I get no answer. Great eh? Don't phone - get discharged, do phone - no answer so get discharged. A great way to keep the waiting lists down.

We are sorry you have experienced difficulties in contacting the Physiotherapy Appointments Team and can appreciate how frustrating this must have been. I have spoken to the department and whilst they do have a number of lines into the appointments staff, they do receive a large number of calls. If you have not yet been able to get through, could you please contact me by email at corporate.affairs@chsft.nhs.uk with your contact details (including telephone number) and I will ensure someone contacts you.
