Staff cleaning area and bed ready for next patient. Didn't wash hands before putting on gloves. Washed bed, bed side table, bedside cabinet and mattress with same cloth without once rinsing the cloth out, dropped cloth under bed and picked it up without changing gloves after touching floor. Touched face, hair with the gloves on, after doning PPE gloves, aprons etc didn't wash hands just alcohol gelled them. Another team while doing the same thing the day before didnt even have aprons on but again used the same cloth without washing it out. They used the same mop without washing it out. They kept touching the dirty bin instead of using the foot pedal on it. It took them 9 hours to provide a jug of water despite being asked several times and advising plenty of fluids. Patients who were able got there own water did. They don' t communicate and put false information on record and send you home on day release when you are that ill you should be under constant medical supervision to return and alll your clothes and belongings have gone because they are unaware what is going on. I think ward 1 on surgical assessment are in breach of many of the CQC outcomes and they staff need further training.
"nurses need retraining in decontamination on ward..."
