In March this year my elbow became sore when straightened and I made an appointment to see my GP at Strathesk Medical Practice, due to difficulties getting appointments at this surgery I had another query to discuss so the elbow was mentioned second.
I explained that about 25 years ago I had fallen and had a small sliver of bone that had never healed and was in my elbow. This periodically moved and caused pain and stiffness, but recently had been bothering me on a more regular basis and I wondered if anything could be done about it.
The doctor did not even look up from the notes she was taking but dismissed my explanation, it could not possibly be an old injury and said she would refer me for physio, I left the surgery completely fed up as I knew this pain was caused by the old injury.
I finally received my appointment for physio and after 15 mins of assessment and movement the physio advised that this was a 'piece of bone' in the joint and that physio would not be able to help this,
I now have another appointment at my surgery, however not with the original doctor as that proved too problematic as I work full time, and will now have to wait again to see what will happen.
I feel if the original doctor had listened to me and not dismissed me out of hand I might be further forward with having the pain dealt with.
