"Very positive expereince of the NHS"

About: Northern General Hospital / Colorectal surgery Royal Hallamshire Hospital Weston Park Hospital

(as the patient),

Due to bowel cancer I had a year of visits to Northern General Hospital (ward Firth 6), Royal Hallamshire (ICU) and Weston Park Hospital (floor3/4). Last June I had surgery at Northern General and then a few weeks later I had an infection in my stomach, so I was admitted to the Hallamshire. After the infection cleared, I started chemotherapy at Weston Park every two weeks and the care I receive is fantastic! All the staff are superb. I have had a very positive experience of the NHS, I think it is magnificent. My only bad experience was that at first my GP showed little interest in me. But the other GPs were great, so all in all the NHS have done a great job. Negotiating between the three hospitals is tough especially with all the appointments but it works in the end and the staff are always great.
