"care and recuperation of an elderly person"

About: Ellesmere Port Hospital

My father was admitted to this hospital with the intention of continuing his care after discharge from the Countess of Chester Hospital. He has not received the care and attention necessary for him to progress - in fact he is now far, far worse than he was when admitted - completely negating the care and treatment he had at the Countess of Chester . Very few of the claims of his rehabilitation with a view to returning home have been carried out, or if and when carried out, have been of a very inconsistent and poor manner. Even the basic level of care is appalling. His stay at this hospital has been detrimental to his health. I would advise any prospective patient, relative or friend of a patient to avoid this hospital at all costs.

Dear Sir/Madam, We are very sorry to learn of your concerns about your father's care. We take all patient feedback very seriously and therefore we would like to investigate your concerns to see what has happened. It would be helpful if you could contact the PALs Department on Freephone 0800 195 1241 and select the option listed, or email cochpals@nhs.net to give us more information about your experience. We may need to obtain your father's consent before we can respond, but this will enable us to feedback to you personally regarding his treatment and care. The Patient Experience Team
