I was contacted my Nuffield hospital last week by letter, after being refereed from Derriford hospital for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. Got my appointment letter and everything was running smoothly. I then received a telephone call from the hospital regarding a pre medical history check before I came for treatment. If was this conversation that left me angry. Once I mentioned to the lady I was on tablets for depression and for IBS, her tone changed and told me it was no longer possible to treat me straight away and would have to be referred back to Derriford. Since this incident I have now been given an appointment at Derriford for the end of November which is a much longer waiting time, as I was going to be seen in Nuffield next week. Is this normal behaviour from Nuffield?
