"Treatment Centre"

About: Lister Hospital

I attended the Treatment Centre with my 93 year old Nan this week so she could have laser surgery on her eye. We were told to prepare for a 3 hour appointment but everything was done in little more than an hour. We were especially impressed with the consultant who identified a second eye problem and, recognising that my Nan had mobility issues, went out of his way to arrange for this to be looked at during the same visit. His manner was professional but warm and he squeezed my Nans hand to reassure her which was a very human touch and greatly appreciated. He made her feel special and that he cared and that she was not just a number. A rare and lovely thing indeed.

Our colleagues in the Treatment Centre have been through a hard couple of years, especially in transferring across from being run privately by Carillion Clinicenta to now being integrated fully in to the Lister hospital. More needs to be done, as always, but it is clear that from your feedback, they are heading very much in the right direction. Your feedback, which is on its way to them as we type, will welcomed warmly.
