I was admitted here with a Urosepsis around the 21st April. I was really sick but not really aware of much. My first night was spent in the emergency admissions ward which is a beautifully clean and peaceful ward. A lovely nurse looked after me, I was on lots of drips and drifting in and out of consciousness, I just remember how gentle she was and waking up in the morning with her doing something to the needles in me and it not hurting. The next night I was moved to Erringham which was nice, right at the top of the building, I was on so many drugs I don't remember to much but the kind efficiency of the doctor's and nurses. And especially the young cleaner who always had a cheery face as he worked round my bed. Then onto Castle ward for about a week, my consultant came to see me and the team he left behind to take care of me were wonderfully caring and kind and thoughtful. My mental processes were improving a little by this time and it was easier to take a bit more notice. Every single member of staff on that ward was kind and considerate and made me feel important. Although I wasn't eating the food on offer looked an awful lot better than it used to, it also smelt pretty good too. If I had been able to I am sure I would have enjoyed it. I had an outpatient appointment within a week of being discharged with my MacMillan Nurse and Consultant and I almost cried with their kindness. All in all if you become sick I cannot recomend a hospital more highly. Jackie
