"It's very reassuring to have that level of care"

I've been seen by the Gastroenterology outpatients department at Whipps Cross for the last 8 years regarding my ulcerative colitis.

In that time I've always been seen promptly when my condition when I've relayed my concerns about the deterioration in my condition to my consultant.

My consultant, Dr Alstead, has provided her email and contact number, should I ever need to get in touch, which I've done a few times throughout the years.

A few weeks, back I was able to describe contact my consultant about my symptoms and concerns and within 2 weeks I'd had a colonoscopy to diagnose the problem. Fortunately, for me everything was okay.

I can't fault the care or timeliness of the hospital's interventions. Great care and attention to detail. It's very reassuring to have that level of care.

The NHS is brilliant in my experience and I'm so happy we have it.
