My Nan has recently been admitted too the Strathmore Wing. Unfortunately, we are extremely disappointed with the lack of care and treatment she has been receiving (or not) The condition of the ward is appalling, very dirty, unorganised, doesn't look like it has been cleaned in years, very run down. My elderly Nan is distressed enough with being unwell, making her feel very down and she suffers with depression, so if that isn't bad enough, the environment she is in, isn't helping her or encouraging her to feel better. We live in Royston Hertfordshire, and would normally go to Cambridge, but this time we weren't even given a choice. We feel that she hasn't got much of a chance of making any decent recovery where she is now, and are not happy about her staying in those conditions. If we can, we will consider having her moved to Cambridge, she has been there in the past and was very well cared for and the staff were very helpful and informative, unlike they have been at Lister. Very disappointed.
