I am a woman who was told out of the blue that I had a malignant kidney tumour. I was referred to St James's from Bradford as I chose to have the Ablation procedure over surgery to remove part of my kidney.
When my husband and I first met Dr Wah and her PA Jeanette we were instantly put at ease. I was upset that I had to undergo a guided biopsy but Dr Wah explained the reasons why I would benefit from this.
On the day of my Tumour Ablation Procedure I was very nervous. The staff were amazing and the anaesthetist was a very friendly down to earth man. on entering theatre Dr Wah came and spoke to me, again putting me at ease. I was confident in Dr Wah's care.
After the procedure the ward staff were very good and when Dr Wah and Jeanette saw me the day after I was discharged with all information, advise and contact numbers I needed.
After my 4 week scan I was contacted by Jeanette with positive news. After my 3 month scan I was upset that I started having pain. I left a message for Jeanette in the morning and she contacted me later that day to offer me an appointment 3 days later. At that appointment I was shown all my scans and given the great news that I was clear and the ablation was successful.
Although I will now be discharged from Dr Wah's care and go back to Urologist she made it clear that I could contact her if I had any concerns.
I was always made to feel like I had 100% of their time and attention and was never made to feel less of a person for any reason and liked that my Husband was included in everything and was able to ask questions which were answered.
I would put my life in Dr Wah's hands in a breath.
