"Waiting Times"

About: York Hospital

I was very surprised at the recent press coverage of waiting times at The York District Hospital. A member of my family was diagnosed with a serious illness and was seen by a consultant within days, The hospital had also tried to contact him by phone several times. Unfortunately the calls came up with 'call number withheld' so he thought it was a sales call. He has been treated with respect and kindness at all times. We saw the doctor on Tuesday 2nd September 2014 and the specialist nurse. The support is outstanding and such a relief to us his family. We are so fortunate, compared with some of our fellow men in other countries. I wanted to write to the press but my brother didn't want people to know he is ill. He said it was ok to write to you.
