"My friend had a head injury sustained ..."

About: St George's Hospital (Tooting) (London)

(as a relative),

What I liked

My friend had a head injury sustained in an assault. The nurse seeing us stated that there would be a few people to treat before us. My friend's wife asked why, what was their severity of treatment. I will admit that my friend's wife was a bit rude, however the nurse reacted incredibly unprofessionally - storming out of the room. Surely working in an A&E, this nurse should have the patience and people skills to react appropriatley to such enquiries from concerned family members. All this nurse had to say was 'Look, I know that you're worried, we'll treat your husband as soon as possible'. Furthermore, the staff at this hospital allowed a patient to vomit in the waiting room; when we complained about it (raising aggravation in the vomiting patient), the police were called and we were refused treatment. The excuse given was that we were 'violent towards staff' which is a load of nonsense - the only violent words were exchanged between us and the vomiting patient, who insulted my friend's wife and I. An incompetent hospital run by incompetent, unprofessional staff. AVOID!
