"Outpatients appointment could have been better"

I recently had to visit the eye clinic my appointment was split into two visits! when all the test could be done in one visit, which has happened previously. Reason given a doctor was not available! Consequently I had to take two separate half days off work. The hospital says it has a issue with patients not showing for appointments, perhaps they should consider the patient when filling appointment slots. I feel some sort of consideration should be given for working patients when arranging appointments.
