"Cancelled appointment"

About: King George Hospital

The doctor I was referred to left King Georges months ago. I have waited 3 months for an appointment. Today I received a letter telling me my appointment has been cancelled and I will be sent another one. Exactly when, is any ones guess. No phone number! One excuse when I phoned the Trust was well Doctors are entitled to holidays! I can barely use my left hand because the pain is so severe. I have to empty a stoma bag as well as cook and wash I would like to know if I get a private consultation and treatment will the Trust pay my bill?

Thank you for your comment on NHS Choices. I am sorry that your appointment was cancelled after such a long wait and that the doctor you were referred to has left King George Hospital, this is unacceptable. The person you spoke to on the phone that stated that Doctors are entitled to holidays – this is no excuse and should not have been offered as one.
