"I was a confused and forgotten patient"

About: Horton NHS Treatment Centre

I was not fed for over 24 hours apart from toast and a plastic cheese sandwich, until husband complained. Finally I had a meal. Again forgotton the next morning for breakfast until asked for it. Cleanliness! My 2 bed room looked like a bomb had gone off once the other patient left. Dirt and papers left on floor of toilet and beds, bedding thrown over bed and chairs. Conflicting instructions between Surgeon and nursing staff. Left to sit in bloody fluid in bed while I was supposed to finish breakfast! Finally left hospital with a bag full of medication. Within it were 30 injections I was expected to administer myself? How? Had not been given any instructions whatsoever. Also included were 5 dressings for spinal wound. How could I apply myself. Contacted the first morning at home my GP Surgery. Everyone has been horrified. I now receive superb treatment daily by District Nurses. Again given bad advice by Horton, I am not allowed to shower for 10 days, it would dissolve the steri strips. The waterproof dressings were not adequate. Would I come back no. Only to meet my surgeon who I found very professional at all times.
