"'Míle Buíochas' to Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre"

I am writing to say 'míle buíochas' (a thousand thanks) to the absolutely wonderful and most incredible staff of the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre. I was an in-patient at the NOC in July 2014. During my stay I can honestly say that every person I met, no matter what role they played within the hospital, was just so kind, mannerly and patient and the generosity of spirit shown was simply amazing. I will be forever grateful to each and every one of them for their assistance in helping me during my recovery from surgery especially given I was so far away from home (I live in Dublin, Ireland). I must make specific mention of the staff in Ward F. They were just superb. Nothing, and I mean absolutely nothing, was too much trouble for any of them. They were so courteous and polite and the care and attention I received both day and night were excellent. I was under the care of a consultant and his wonderful team. They are wonderful doctors and their interest, professionalism and dedication in treating people with PVNS, like me, are nothing short of outstanding. I am most grateful to the consultant, in particular, for his continued efforts to resolve, what is known to be, a very difficult condition to eradicate completely. Last, but most definitely not least, I must make special mention of two individuals who assisted me tirelessly over an 18 month period from December 2012 to July 2014. These two members of staff provided me with invaluable assistance on the very long road which finally ended with my surgery at the NOC. One in particular, was simply incredible. She is a truly wonderful person who was just so kind and helpful in sorting out the many obstacles I encountered along the way. The other continued to do the same for me when the first took up her new position in April. To this day he continues to help me when I need assistance. I have never met either person but I feel like they are good friends. Oxford University Hospitals are fortunate to have people of such high calibre working on their behalf. My in-patient stay at the NOC was truly a very positive experience and it is one I will always remember. My main purpose in writing is to say a sincere ‘Thank you’ to the staff of Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre. They are, without a shadow of a doubt, an incredibly hard-working and dedicated staff.
