"Cardiac Catheterisation Suite, Deeden House"

I recently had to spend a day in the Cardiac Catheterisation Suite in Beeden House, having an Angiogram. About a week later I had to spend a second day there having Coronary Angioplasty. I can't speak highly enough of the whole team here, from the receptionist, the nurses, the theatre staff and the consultant. Frankly, I was stunned by the level of professionalism I experienced at every level in this ward . All the staff worked as a team and with the utmost calmness and competence. I was treated more like a very important client in a hotel than a patient and I was looked after very attentively by a team of brilliant nurses. I really can't say enough positive things about these dedicated people. Everybody in the ward, including the receptionist, showed real caring towards all the patients. There was always a willing, smiling nurse whenever I needed one. I had a strong impression that there has been a push to concentrate on giving each patient the utmost respect and personal care, and to treat each patient with kindness and dignity, as well as providing the very best medical care. I can confirm that you have been successful. The ward was superbly equipped, and it was very tidy and spotlessly clean. I was given tea or coffee when I wanted it, my water was fresh and topped up regularly and I was given a choice of delicious sandwiches and fruit; perfect! It seems strange to say this as I had to undergo treatment for Coronary Heart Disease, but I thoroughly enjoyed my stay in this ward and I genuinely enjoyed meeting the lovely people that so competently run it. I, like everybody else, have heard so many unfavourable reports about our hospitals in the NHS, and so I was slightly worried when I was referred for treatment at Bedford South Wing, but I needn't have worried. I can't imagine how anything about my treatment and my experience in this hospital could have possibly been any better. With facilities like your Cardiac Catheterisation Suite and the people working in it I feel very proud of our NHS. A massive thankyou to everybody in Bedford South Wing hospital, and especially to the consultant and his whole team in your Cardiac Catheterisation Suite.
