About: Royal Derby Hospital

I have been under this hospital for over 9 years now. I have had Bile duct cancer followed by a secondary cancer, 2 rounds of chemo, heart problems, followed by a bacteria infection leeding to liver failure last Christmas. I can only praise all the lovely staff who have helped us along this difficult journey. I have been so lucky to have amazing consultants, a wonderful nurse specalist and amazing care on numerous wards. We have had the occasional hick up but we are so lucky to have the support of a everyone who has and is looking after us. Thank you all so much xx

Many thanks for your lovely and kind comments regarding the staff who have cared for you during the years you have been a patient at our hospital. Our staff always try hard to provide a high standard of care to all our patients and we are so pleased that on all these occasions you felt this aim has been achieved. Patient feedback, both good and bad, is very important to us as it gives us the opportunity to share elements of good practice, learn lessons and implement changes to improve our services for our patients wherever we can. Many thanks once again for taking the time to provide us with this feedback and may I take this opportunity to wish you and your family our sincere best wishes for the future. Kind regards Deborah Furness, member of the Patient Experience Team for Derby Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust
